Reminiscent of that perfect pint at the end of a long ride, these fabulous keyrings are a great gift for a bike lover. Bottletops are collected from local bars in Kenya then cut and filed to make the wheels. Recycled wire is used for the frame, making these a really low carbon product.
Living conditions in the Nairobi slum where these are made are pretty harsh with few basic amenities and scarce opportunities for employment. Zakale Creations is a shining light - providing training to young people, including taking some of them off the streets and away from drugs. Several of the trainees have gone on to create their own businesses which is a great testament to this pioneering and creative project.
