Quirky Cat Decoration by MADE51: supporting refugees

The Quirky Cat is hand-felted from local sheep wool in Armenia, and crafted by Syrian refugees living in an Armenian camp. Inspired by an Armenian cat with different-coloured eyes, it has been chosen as a symbol of freedom and resilience and an expression of their new home.

MADE51 is made possible by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the World Fair Trade Organisation. Making these decorations gives refugees a fair income as well as the chance to heal from trauma and build new lives. The designs reflect both their homeland and their new home, and keep cultural traditions alive.

The Quirky Cat comes in a presentation box with information about the Made51 project and the decoration itself. It makes a fantastic gift and is a great way to show your support for refugees.
