Made by hand from aluminium drinks cans, each piece is painstakingly cut and shaped, right down to the curved seat. These bikes are clearly proud of their recycled qualities with lovely colours and patterns formed from the original cans' designs. Each one is utterly different from another, they are all examples of the tremendous skill and resourcefulness of the makers.
They're made by members of a Madagascan cooperative set up to support impoverished artisans. By uniting they've been able to get a better income and a wider market for their products. They've been able to build houses and buy land for farming, thus building a more stable future.
