A tiny clay pot with a beautifully scented candle, these make a lovely gift, especially at Christmas time. 4cm diameter, burn time 4 hours.

The Dalit people of India, also known as the untouchables, are the poorest of the poor,  forced to drink out of rough clay pots which signify their outsider status. But this symbol of oppression has been repurposed into these beautiful, simple candles. Making and packing them gives people much needed work and the profits raised go into providing schools for their children.

Once you've finished with the candle, you can recycle the clay pot by putting it on the compost heap.
