These chic and elegant brass leaf earrings are handmade in the Kibera Slum, Kenya.
The jewellery workshop in the Kibera Slum in Nairobi was set up to allow local young men, who had been living on the streets, opportunities for stable work and a chance to learn new skills. The artists were trained, not only in the skill of jewellery-making, but also how to manage and run the workshop themselves, enabling it to be self-sustainable, and to support themselves and their families long-term.
