This hand stitched and felted Bold Ram is inspired by the Urial, a wild sheep native to Afghanistan. Crafted by Afghan refugees now living in Malaysia, they have chosen the ram as a symbol of their homeland. It's a bold and resilient creature, ready to take on life's challenges.
MADE51 is made possible by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the World Fair Trade Organisation. Making these decorations gives refugees a fair income as well as the chance to heal from trauma and build new lives. The designs reflect both their homeland and their new home, and keep cultural traditions alive.
