Our exclusive Harrogate Pump Rooms decoration has been designed by Just Trade and hand made in hammered brass by women at the Flowering Desert project in India.
Here vulnerable women from an on-site refuge are taught how to make jewellery and given a new start in life. They work alongside rural women who benefit from the opportunity to earn their own income. The training and fairly paid employment opportunities at Flowering Desert offer a way for the women to increase their skills and future work possibilities, often bringing them status in society for the first time.
