With the growing concern about the sustainability of the textile industry, particularly in regard to cotton, we aim to buck the trend of over-consumption. We consume more than 70 items of clothing each year; 30 years ago we consumed less than half of that. This amounts to more than 40 million tons of textiles being discarded each year, the majority of which is cotton. By using recycled cotton we are contributing to the 'circulatory economy', where waste is not just thrown away, another use is found for it.
