Zuri Design
Working with small producer groups in Kenya and Uganda, Zuri Design offers support to develop their workshops and increase their incomes, alleviating poverty through trade.
Founded in 2003 by Helen Scanlon to provide work for street boys in the slums of Nairobi the company now extends across a network of suppliers in East Africa who share skills and materials to create stylish and fun accessories. The producers use recycled material such as cow bone and metals and more recently built a bead-making workshop allowing them to expand their designs.
The UCI bike race held in Harrogate in 2019 led to the collaborative design of some bespoke pieces for our shop which you can find in our Bike and Jewellery collections .
